In celebration of , we’re shouting out a rock star on our team – Senior Medical Director Ihab Abdel-Fattah, M.D., Ph.D.!

Ihab is a board-certified cardio-thoracic surgeon with almost 20 years of clinical practice and research experience. His respiratory expertise spans all stages of clinical drug and medical device development, from proof of concept through market support. Ihab’s areas of special interest include asthma and emphysema, cystic fibrosis, COPD, lung transplantation and cancers and pulmonary hypertension. He is the joint inventor and lead clinical developer of a US patented and FDA approved portable EVLP device used in lung transplantation worldwide.

Our recently helped support the International FOXP1 Foundation's Family Gathering and Conference 2023 – an event organized by one of our former team members, Karl Whitney, that aims to further the Foundation's mission of empowering and backing families and individuals with FOXP1 syndrome. Here's a look into Karl's event experience:

"This was by far the largest gathering of the FOXP1 community to date anywhere in the world, attracting about 150 people. FOXP1 syndrome is ultra-rare, and the opportunity to get together with individuals experiencing the same situation is truly invaluable."

That’s a wrap on the World Parkinson Congress in Barcelona! Chief Scientific Officer Pete Schmidt, Ph.D., had a wonderful time engaging with professionals and patients from around the world to chat about discoveries and care practices furthering the future of Parkinson’s research and treatment. Here’s what Pete took away from the experience:
