Hey friends, here is an update video of some of what God has been doing during the week in our city. This is what the love of Jesus can look like when we care for one another and look out for our cities. Ask how you can be a part of what Jesus is doing in your city!
Also, take notice of the new Catch the Fire Community Center God has given us in Durham!
PS-Thank you for putting together this lovely video!

Dear Church,
I want to introduce you to a friend of ours out in the community. This is Eva and two of her three children, Mari and Gabi. Eva has given me permission to post this story and I do so in great hope that we can come together and help her. Two months ago Eva was coming home from her job at a construction company where she did clean up. She was riding with other employees when they got into a terrible accident. The car rolled on top of her and her hips were crushed as well as her legs. The car and driver were not insured. Eva has only been in the United States for a few years and she and her children only speak Spanish. Her children’s father was killed back in her home country before they moved here. Eva is now seriously debilitated from the waist down due to this accident. Her apartment is on the third story of their apartment building. There is no elevator. Only metal stairs on the outside going up. It is very high and rickety.
Since the accident Eva has nobody to help her except her 17-year-old daughter. That daughter has had to drop out of school to be her care-giver. They have no car, no income, no friends or family and no means to protect themselves. I have asked permission to make this post because although we see very extreme crisis situations on almost a weekly basis, this one needed special attention. My heart breaks for her and I know that we have a good God who has called his Church to care for and protect the widows and orphans and to help those in need.
Please pray with us for this precious woman and her children and ask the Holy Spirit how you might be able to help.
Embrace is able to take care of a lot of food and help with that weekly. We are looking into some other assistance as well but are not sure what is available. If you know of connections or ways to help this family or would like to donate financially to help with basic needs like rent, utilities, medical etc... Please PM me. Catch The Fire .sinkler
May we: “Learn to do good, seek justice, remove the oppressor, defend the orphan, and plead for the widow.”
