Celebrate today by grabbing a nice cold glass of water from the faucet or fridge. But today, take just a small extra moment to acknowledge the beauty of that water and how life would be so different without it. Then drink it down and say "thank you".

I was once again reminded of the significance of clean water as I spent a couple weeks climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, interacting with guides and porters who come from small villages and big cities all with the same problem....access to clean water. This is a solvable problem with real solutions. Let's double down on our best efforts in 2026.

🔥Most people think ultra endurance training means endless miles.

The truth? Strength wins races.

When I’m training for extreme distances, I rely on a simple full body workout I can do anywhere. This home workout builds real durability — legs, core, shoulders, lungs — everything you need when the miles get hard.

This isn’t complicated. It’s a beginner workout built on a total body workout foundation. Strong movement patterns. Controlled intensity. Consistent effort.

If you want endurance that lasts — you need strength that holds up.

Use this simple workout plan to create a consistent workout routine that supports long runs, ultra marathons, or just life.

No excuses. Just work.

😬 Challenge time! Does your balance predict how long you live?

A recent study says… maybe.

Adults who couldn’t stand on one foot for 10 seconds
were 84% more likely to die within 10 years.

But it’s not just balance.

What it may actually reflect:
Chronic health issues (diabetes, heart disease, cancer)
Higher fall risk as we age
Lower physical activity levels

Good balance often =
More movement
Stronger muscles
Better overall health

Balance isn’t the cause — it’s a signal.

How to train it (simple + realistic):
Stand on one foot while brushing your teeth
Walk more (especially uneven surfaces)
Strength train your legs and core
Add single-leg exercises (lunges, step-ups)
Practice balance a few seconds a day — consistency wins

Train it. Don’t ignore it.

Throwback from 2013 has shaped me more than almost any race.

I ran it 7 times. One DNF. Six finishes. Top 5 in five of them.

What mattered most wasn’t the records , it was getting faster each time, chasing something deeper than the clock. The 50+ course record has stood for 13 years now. And the Death Valley Cup, Badwater run + Furnace Creek 508 bike in the same season, remains one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever taken on.

The gentlemen in this photo are legends in their own right. I’ve looked to them for motivation, for drive, and for inspiration when things got dark out there. Being alongside them pushed me to become more than I thought I could be.

Grateful for the desert. Grateful for the suffering. And grateful for the people who make it meaningful.
