Dear Hamiltonians,
Thanks for coming to our last event: The Afghanistan Refugee Crisis! To recap, President and CEO of Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services Krish Vignarajah and Professor of Interfaith Relations Abdullah Antepli discussed the current landscape of the refugee crisis. President Vignarajah presented the logistics and history behind the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), and offered some insights into how refugee resettlement organizations factor into assisting not only with the legal side of refugee resettlement, but the humanitarian and community-building sides as well. Professor Antepli reminded us how the landscape for assisting refugees has changed with more interfaith collaboration and multilateral cooperation, but a lot more work has to be done to help Afghan refugees with resettlement.
