Dhoom combines Indian dances(Bollywood, Bhangra, raas, classical) with styles from around the world (hip hop, Latin, modern etc) to create dynamic dances to powerful fusion beats. Duke Dhoom is open to any undergraduate or graduate student from any cultural background. D-HOOM!

Wow! Now that it's summer, let's take a look back at what Dhoom was up to: from new experiences like dancing in Cameron to our annual performances in Page, we've had quite a busy year!
Up next: With spring came the annual Lunar New Year Festival: this year we explored the story of a young couple and the struggles they must undergo as they discover their roots and fight to remain connected despite being halfway across the world. Bringing together a mix of South Asian and East Asian music, their love of dance keeps them close, yet also takes them to places they'd never thought imaginable.

Wow! Now that it's summer, let's take a look back at what Dhoom was up to: from new experiences like dancing in Cameron to our annual performances in Page, we've had quite a busy year!
First off, here's the biggest performance of the fall semester: Awaaz! Follow the story of a young girl and her father as they struggle to bridge the generations and cultures that separate them. The parent-child relationship mirrors the changes in Bollywood we have seen throughout time - new influences and new styles emerge yet at the core, we remain true to our roots. Through music old and young, dances classic and fresh, they slowly begin to realize that they are not so different after all.
