The holy Bible is the world’s oldest, and most popular book. It tops the New York Times best Seller list every week so they took it off there.

From the Bible, we get truth. Historically accurate data that can be measured in archaeology. We get wisdom, and information that are timeless.

The basis of the western civilization, and the law that we all know and love. Freedom. Agency for women, minorities, and yes tolerance for those who we don’t agree with. It’s in Christian countries where alternative lifestyles are accepted, and people are not killed for them.

It’s the book that teaches being honest, telling the truth, helping out your fellow man, doing unto others as you would want them to do unto you.

From it, we’ve gotten all kinds of religious whack jobs, and people that take it to extremes. The exception proves the rule. But what it teaches is having peace between people, and being first to be peaceful, forgiving one another, and working together. 

 There are 31 chapters of the book of proverbs and 31 days of the month. Perhaps now is your signal to begin reading a proverb a day by the date. If you read on the first, and you don’t read again till the third, that’s OK. Read the first and third chapters.

There’s value, and ageless, structure, and peace found in the word of God. 

Maybe it’s time to pull it out, dust it off, and crack it open.

Don’t do words.
People aren’t listening.

Kindness. Imagine if that was the goal for all of us.
Imagine if bitterness was something we didn’t do.

What if we treated people with love?
What if we were forgiving, kind and nice?

This is actually what America is known for. Around the world, when people visit here they comment on the kindness and friendliness of Americans.

That’s because we have a book that guides us. Full of ancient wisdom. The oldest history book in the world. The basis of freedom, being kind to each other, and having the rule of law.

It’s our culture. Kindness. Being willing to help.

Just because some people in life are nasty, don’t let yourself become that way.

A wise man once told me, apologies are accepted, and respected. 

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Did you ever wonder why it seems like there’s so many brain dead folks on the Internet? It’s because they don’t respect God or other people.

People of faith are just different. Most of the hospitals in America come from people of faith. That’s why they’re called Saint Jude, or Mercy Health or some other Christian related name. People of faith have been working to have compassion and take care of their community for years.

Then came social media. And the world seems to be a race to insult other people,  to be completely bigoted and rude, and make life less fun for everybody else.

This is your reminder that as a person of faith, you to be a person of wisdom. Don’t say things that aren’t true. Don’t say things that are unkind. Don’t be rude and judgmental. Or you’re just like the rude and judgmental people who hate people of faith. 

And if you correct the fools on the Internet, expect to be insulted. Why? Because it was written, thousands of years ago. Don’t correct people who can’t recognize wisdom.

Truth like that is rare. That’s why it’s so important to have a book of truth, to measure the foolishness of the world against. to be an everlasting moral guide to truth and reality. 

Be elevated, rise above, be the bigger person. Don’t feed the trolls.
