Before it was called Memorial Day… it was known as “Decoration Day.” 🇺🇸

A tradition born after the Civil War where families gathered to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers with flowers, flags, and remembrance.

Back then, Americans honored what mattered most by caring for the spaces and memories left behind.

And honestly?
Not much has changed.

Today we still hold onto the uniforms.
The letters.
The boots in the closet.
The jackets that still smell like Dad.
The things we can’t quite part with because they tell the story of someone we loved.
