"WHO KNEW WEDNESDAY!!"

Guatemala has an amazing 37 VOLCANOES! What's more: Two of Guatemala's three ACTIVE volcanoes are a short drive away from our home base of Antigua - one (Pacaya) we hike to during the trip, and the other (Fuego) has plumes of regular smoke visible from Antigua!!

The family homestay is where the real immersion happens!

Each participant lives with a local Guatemalan family in Antigua for the duration of our program — sharing meals, conversation, and daily life entirely in Spanish.

It's less like a hotel stay and more like becoming part of the family for a couple of weeks: host moms who pack you a sack lunch for your "field trip" hiking to an active volcano and the kind of everyday conversation that no classroom can replicate.

Most participants say it's the single biggest reason their Spanish actually sticks - with lifetime friendships an added bonus :)

Gilda has been welcoming our participants in her house for over seven years, sharing with them all of her patience and dedication to what she does, not to mention the unique flavor of home-cooked Guatemalan meals!
