Just a few of the art forms in Lisbon. European cities never disappoint

Travel tip of the day if you have a longer layover and don’t have a lounge easily accessible (especially if you’re an introvert).

1. Go to your scheduled gate
2. Scout around the nearby gates and see what big flights are leaving soon
3. Hang out there until everyone boards
4. You’ll have your choice of seats and it will be quiet there for a little while at least!

Dropped Freya off at school. Finally! Hopefully she’ll know a whole lot more by the time I get back from all of my travels next month!

I was so sad to leave her there - just like walking out of that preschool building when my kids were too small to really understand why.

We know it’s good for them. We know it makes them happier and more resilient. We know they’ll learn so many valuable life lessons…

But still.

Travel tip of the day: buy the small suitcase or backpack.

If you buy the big one, there’s no question that you will fill it and probably with a lot of things you don’t even need or will even wear. And then it’s so heavy it ends up being a huge burden.

You shouldn’t be more burdened while on vacation. And it definitely shouldn’t feel like work!

If you buy the small size one, you’ll also fill it, but with only the things that you actually need.

Yes, I do want to bring more stuff for my month away, but I know I’m going to be happy that I didn’t!

Who else is a terrible travel procrastinator? I spend all of my time doing this and not enough time packing my things up!

After all of these years, you’d think I’d learn.

I was also that person who learned a whole semester of information the night before the final.

I guess cramming everything in the day before is just who I am! Who else out there does this every time?

Portugal here we come! One week from today!

What fun things do you have planned this summer?

I know thinking about trips and vacations months ahead or even a year takes a lot of planning, but it’s always so worth it. If you want more ease with all of the logistics, just come with me!

Flexibility with horses is definitely a good skill to have.

Not their flexibility, as demonstrated by the way Freya can contort her head to get it through the fence, but mine, as her human.

Once again, I have a trainer set up, this time on property so I don’t have to have the trailer fiasco any longer!

Hopefully by the time I get back from Europe, I’ll have a horse with a bit of a different mindset. And I may even be riding her then too!

The never ending journey of getting a baby horse 💕

Such amazing camouflage that I almost ran right into this guy! My horses didn’t notice either - only when it moved.

Kind of creepy, but I’m grateful there were no rattles on the tail!
