Durango Bike Project was set up as a way to recycle used cycling gear, apparel and bikes while giving back to our local cycling community.

We give a portion of sales directly to Durango Devo and Fort Lewis College Cycling.

On Saturday we will be closing the shop at 11:30 so that we can ride in solidarity and unity and remember the life of Alex Pretti, and all those who have lost their lives in confrontations with federal immigration enforcement.

We will join local bike shops and community members — because when people come together, change can be made. Together we ride.

Time is precious.

Shortly after opening the shop, my son turned nine. That was the moment I realized his time living at home was already halfway over. As a single parent who only gets half that time with him, every missed ride, late night, canceled plan, and school event matters.

Reading this Matt Leinart post from January 17th about time and parenthood made it clear: it’s time.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and grateful for this community. I’m also fortunate to have a full-time job that provides more than enough for Me and Loic, which gives me the clarity to pass the shop on to someone with the time and energy to fully devote to it.

With my lease up March 31, we have just over 70 days to find a new owner and transition the shop. This isn’t an ending—it’s a handoff.

If you or someone you know might be interested, please reach out.
