The Damsel is certainly in Distress, the Villain is villainous, and the Hero may not be all that bright, but at least he's well-dressed.
The Draper Arts Council presents Showdown at the Rainbow Ranch, a classic musical melodrama, complete with hissable villain, kissable heroine, and missable hero. Production dates are 28 February and 1, 3, 7 and 8 March, 7 pm at the Draper Historic Theatre. Director Chris Jones says this will be a wild Wild West Show, with lots of opportunities to throw popcorn, sing along with the cast, and enjoy
A number of people have expressed interest in this group from the Ranch doing some things together, maybe forming a troupe to put on a show every quarter or so.
Recently, I ran across a crowdfunding model that might just allow that to happen. Patreon is a sort of Kickstarter for creatives, and might give a theater company a more regular control over cashflow. I'm personally using it as a funding model for my writing, but it has other interesting possibilities, I believe.
