We're laying the foundation for some great conversations at .
The Vector Engineers team is excited to be exhibiting at our very first AIA Expo in San Diego, June 10-13.

If you're attending, stop by Booth 4632 and say hello. We'd love to learn about your projects, talk shop, and meet architects, designers, builders, and fellow industry partners.

Don't be shy. It's our first AIA Expo too.

We are excited to officially launch our new Civil Engineering division, adding site development and infrastructure design services throughout the western United States.

For architects, developers, and contractors, this means better coordination between site and structural design, fewer consultants to manage, and a more streamlined path from design through construction.

We are also excited to welcome Morgan Sandberg to the Vector team, bringing extensive experience in commercial site development, grading and drainage design, stormwater management, utility coordination, and permitting support.

Electrical engineering makes buildings work—power, lighting, controls, and all the systems that depend on them.

As our electrical group continues to grow, we’re expanding capacity and supporting more projects with efficient, reliable design. It’s the same responsiveness and technical precision clients expect from our structural team—applied to every circuit, load, and control.

Our electrical engineers help uncover things like:
• How power distribution choices affect layout and construction
• When EV charging or PV systems can change early design assumptions
• Where lighting, emergency systems, or controls require added coordination
• How integrated electrical + structural design reduces surprises

If you want smoother projects with fewer coordination gaps, a unified engineering team makes all the difference.

Since joining Vector in 2021, Isaac Averett, a key contributor across both our solar and residential groups, has become a trusted partner to our clients. His curiosity, technical precision, and genuine kindness make him an incredible teammate.

Recently, Isaac led the structural design for a nearly 9,000 sq ft custom home in Southern California — managing high seismic demands, challenging soil conditions, and a complex deep foundation system. It’s the type of detailed, collaborative project where Isaac truly shines.

From his early days building anything he could get his hands on to pursuing a Master’s in Structural Engineering at Brigham Young University, Isaac’s journey reflects what we value most at Vector: grit, growth, and a passion for solving challenges before construction begins.

We’re grateful to have Isaac on our team!

Planning a remodel this year?
Most homeowners picture finishes. Our team pictures what is holding those finishes up.

Before we price a remodel or begin design, we ask some key questions that help us understand how a home is built, what is changing, and how to keep everything safe and predictable.

These questions reveal things like:
• Whether existing plans still match field conditions
• What hidden loads or framing details could affect your layout
• How future phases or heavy finishes might impact structural choices
• When a simple photo can save a site visit and streamline design

If you want a smoother remodel with fewer surprises, understanding these questions is a great place to start.

Our team had a great time connecting with industry partners and exploring the latest innovations shaping the future of metal construction.

A key theme throughout the event was fire-resilient design and how light gauge steel framing continues to offer durable, sustainable solutions for today’s builders.

We also enjoyed hearing from Alex Chausovsky in “Economic and Labor Market Update – What to Expect in 2025 and Beyond.” The takeaway? The industry remains stable — with steady demand and opportunities for those focused on innovation and efficiency.

Special thanks to the incredible exhibitors and partners we connected with, including ClearSpan Structures, S-5!, Roof Hugger, LLC, ATAS International, Inc., TRA Snow and Sun, and Diamond Doors Inc.

Inside A Nevada Home Rooted In The Terrain And Curated With Care Refuge, shelter, retreat. There are any number of words that telegraph the essence of a home as, to quote poet Robert Frost, “the place where, when you have to go there/They have to take you in.” As for “house,” there’s residence, abode, domicile. But whatever you call the place where you ...
