Some parkour athletes know today as "We Jump The World" Day.
Back in 2016, the parkour team, , created We Jump the World Day as the international day to celebrate parkour. They tied it to April 29th because it's the birthday of David Belle, one of the original founders of the sport. It caught on. The community showed up. Groups planned large parkour gatherings to celebrate the day.
And then... it kind of faded out.
This week, posted about it and asked a simple question: Should we bring it back?
Here's where I land. Yes, we should bring it back. Parkour benefits from more storytelling and moments of celebration, not less.
But...
Let's not tie it to some of the same reasons it started.
Tying We Jump the World Day to David Belle's birthday made sense in 2016. He's a founder. He deserves credit for that. But David Belle has not been an active part of this community for over 20 years.
Here's what does make sense. For me, and for a lot of you reading, parkour is one of the most social, expressive, creative sports on the planet. It gives us all a reason to get outside, move, connect, and show each other what we've been building.
So bring We Jump the World Day back. But make it about the athletes who embody the sport here right now, still training, still creating, still pushing the sport forward.
Celebrate community wins. Share innovation. Tell inspired stories. Post a clip that made your week. Shout out the athlete in your crew who finally landed that line they've been working on for months. Give thanks to your local parkour gym, coaches, or community that introduced you to the sport, and share other athletes' posts to spread the love.
That's what We Jump the World Day ought to be. A celebration of parkour in the present moment, by the people keeping it alive.
So today, go jump, go train some parkour with friends.
Make some noise, all for the sport we're still building right now. And if you train at a parkour gym, tag us! Let us know what the sport means to you. If you're in Southern California and you don't have a gym yet, come check us out at Freedom in Motion. https://www.freedominmotiongym.com/
Now go train β€οΈβπ₯

**LIFE UPDATE: She said yes!! π**
Anna and I have been together for 5 years, and in that time I found something I didn't know I was looking for, a love and friendship deeper than anything I've ever known.
Over these five years, I fell in love with her. And with her two boys, Magnus and Solly. And I watched my daughter Kaia see them as true brothers as well. I get to be a stepdad to two incredible boys, and I couldn't be more proud of that. 3 kids! Never saw that coming.
Anna brings the best out of me. She helps me see beauty I used to walk right past. She's helped me fully accept myself, flaws and all, and loves me because of them, not in spite of them.
I fell in love with her kindness, her patience, her intelligence. And then I kept discovering more: her sprawling sense of humor, her playfulness, the way we genuinely root for each other's dreams.
I've never felt so connected to someone.
Grateful for every moment so far. Incredibly excited for everything ahead.
I love you, Anna β€οΈ

The San Francisco International Jam is BACK.
For those who don't know, the SF International Jam is the West Coast's largest gathering of parkour athletes β and we are bringing it back for the first time since 2019. COVID shut everything down, but we are finally here, we are ready, and we are coming back stronger than ever.
https://www.sfparkour.com/sfij-2026
Here's what you need to know.
The jam is happening August 8th and 9th, right here in the San Francisco Bay Area β and it is completely FREE. No registration fees, no tickets. Just pure parkour and community. We want everyone to be able to come, so we made sure cost would never be a barrier.
Here's how the two days break down:
Day one, August 8th β we are kicking things off at the University of California, Berkeley. If you've never trained at UC Berkeley, you are in for a treat. It is one of the best campuses in the entire country for parkour β incredible architecture, amazing lines, and a beautiful setting. We'll be exploring the campus together and training with athletes from all over. And at the end of the day, we're closing out with a community barbecue and hang at Live Oak Park. Good food, good people, good vibes.
Day two, August 9th β we are taking it into the city. We start the day moving through downtown San Francisco, hitting some of the most fun and creative spots the city has to offer. Then, later in the day, we are heading out to the San Francisco Bunkers. If you know, you know. World War 2 era concrete structures, massive, scenic, and absolutely incredible for parkour. It is one of the most unique training spots you will ever experience β and the views are unreal.
We are inviting athletes from across the country and around the world to come join us for this. Whether you've been training for years or you're just getting into the movement β this jam is for you.
August 8th and 9th. Bay Area. Completely free.
Mark your calendars, share this with your crew, and we will see you there. The SF International Jam is back β let's make it one for the books.

This Rabbis sermon reflects completely how I feel, morally, about ICE, about the current administration, and about the deep hypocrisy i see from some "religious" friends and family members.
Im not personally religious, but i do love people and think we all ought to be on the same team here.
We Are Under-Reacting When the nation falls under the spell of state terror, when we spiral from a politics of aspiration to one of capitulation, the people must rise up with love. This is the fight of our lives.
Had a rough week. Work stress, and feeling angry about the budding cival war. Not in a good mood. But greatful to have a few hours to jump in between problem solving. Back to work in the AM.
As 2025 comes to a close, Iβve been reflecting on what this wild, beautiful, and at times difficult year had in store for me. This reel is a small collection of my favorite training moments from 2025. While parkour is no longer my professional focus, it remains one of my greatest sources of fun, fitness, and friendship. These days, I get to train purely for the love of it, while my full energy is directed toward teaching parkour via our Freedom in Motion gyms and growing the parkour industry through Motion Mentors.
2025 brought serious growth in both ventures. FiM positioning to scale fast, more locations, more members, more impact. And with that, the pressure to level up as a CEOcontinues to grow along with it. I find myself regularly toeing the line between breakthrough andfailure. But with an incredible team and a strong community around me, Iβm beyond grateful to be in this arena.
Thank you to everyone who trained, traveled, and supported me this year. Here's to 2026 being a year of setting big goals, crushing hard challenges, and maybe (hopefully) getting a full remake of Ocarina of Time while weβre at it.
With love,
Jimmy Davidson
