โจ Weโre excited for the upcoming Outsider Art Fair in New York City, March 19โ22!
Each year, this event brings together an incredible community of artists, galleries, collectors, and supporters, and weโre especially thrilled to see so many Progressive Studios and PASA members coming together in one place. The fair is always a powerful moment to celebrate the work of artists from progressive studios, connect with longtime collaborators, and welcome new audiences to this vibrant field. If youโre attending, be sure to visit and support the many studios and artists represented this year. We canโt wait to see the community gather again in NYC!

Lewis Foster has moved through different eras in his art practice. Before working in watercolor, his drawings were created exclusively with pencil and colored pencil, like "Slow Home House Story".
The through line? Realist drawings built from rows of serial images, ranging from modernist furniture and vehicles to advertisements and archaeological artifacts. Today, his work has expanded to include figurative forms.

The title of this exhibition comes directly from the artistsโ own descriptions of their work. Nick Granch uses a restrained โโฆโ, an intentional ellipsis that suggests an omission. His contribution to the title reflects a quiet, deliberate gesture.
"City of Churches" and "Houses and Pools" highlight Nickโs architecturally inspired drawings. These detailed environments feel like backdrops within the world of his original characters.
"City of Churches" unfolds in stark black and white, while "Houses and Pools" bursts with color. Each is carefully rendered in gel pen, built through patient, deliberate mark-making.

๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ช๐ฝ๐ฒ๐ธ๐ท ๐ธ๐ฏ ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ถ๐ฎ, opening Friday, February 27th, 4-6 PM, is the PASC program's fifth annual exhibition at the Art Gallery at Westland City Hall.
Despite lifeโs obstacles, an artistโs dedication to their daily practice activates and expands each artistโs work by creating space for experimentation and growth, outside the gaze of an external audience. โฏThis exhibit presents a collection of artwork from artists who have worked out of the PASC Westlandโฏart studio. In the studio, creativity grows through a consistent act of making. It cannot be forced; creative growth unfolds within its own time in varied and often unexpected ways.

Southgate-based PASC artist Therrin Burns recreates the historic photograph of Rosa Parks seated on a bus, centering her presence to fully occupy the frame.
The original image was taken during a planned photo shoot on December 21, 1956, the day after the Montgomery, Alabama, bus system was integrated. In this reimagining, visibility becomes an act of remembrance and power. Previously featured in ๐๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ช๐ท ๐๐ป๐ฎ๐ช๐ถ๐ผ.
