Visionary

At Visionary, we believe in giving back to the communities that support us. That's why our team gets Volunteer Time Off (VTO) hours to show up for the causes they care about most.

This time we're spotlighting our Vice President, Kelli, who serves on the board of Break the Cycle as Day-of Event Coordinator. Break the Cycle is an Iowa-based movement fighting human trafficking and modern-day slavery.

🚴 The Break the Cycle 200 is a one-day, 200-mile ride from the Des Moines area to Okoboji

📋 Kelli coordinates volunteers, supplies, meals, lodging, route stops and rides home

💪 Funds raised support Hope for Justice in identifying victims, helping survivors and preventing exploitation

Read Kelli's story on our blog:

Shopping around for a new website? One of the first questions you'll face is also one of the biggest: Should you go with WordPress or a custom CMS?

It's the question we hear most from businesses looking for a new site, and we're here to ease your mind. At Visionary, we build both:
✅ WordPress sites that launch quickly and affordably, using carefully selected templates tailored to your brand
✅ Custom sites powered by Site OnCall®, the CMS we built right here by us in Des Moines, designed around exactly how your business works

And because we host both on our own secure servers, we set up the hosting environment around your needs too, whether that's a cost-effective shared environment, servers built from the ground up, or anything in between.

Since we build both, we have no reason to push you one way or the other. Our only goal is to find the right fit for your goals, timeline, and budget.

Check out our latest blog to see which path is right for you 👇

custom-cms-vs-wordpress Shopping for a new website? We build both WordPress sites and custom sites with Site OnCall®, plus secure hosting, to help you find the right fit for your business.

A website should be an asset, not a source of friction. That's the thinking behind Site OnCall®, the content management system we built in house at Visionary.

It gives our clients a straightforward way to manage their own website content: update text, swap images, and publish changes without waiting on outside support. The platform is shaped around each client's actual needs, not a one size fits all template.

Every launch includes hands on training, and our team here in Des Moines is available whenever questions come up down the road.

If you're evaluating how easy your website is to manage, we'd welcome the conversation. 👉 https://visionary.com/blog/take-back-control-of-your-website-cms/

🏈 It's Cy-Hawk week at Visionary!

Today the office split into two very passionate camps: Team Hawkeye and Team Cyclone, for our annual tailgate potluck. Team colors, great food, and plenty of friendly rivalry trash talk before Saturday's big game.

This year we took the whole setup outdoors for the first time, and it did not disappoint. Huge thanks to our grill team (Nick Murphy, Holly F. Murphy & Kevin Studer) for keeping everyone fed, and to everyone who brought a dish to share.

Now the real question: Hawkeyes or Cyclones on Saturday? 🖤💛 ❤️💛

Visionary's Cy-Hawk Showdown Today Visionary came together for our Cy-Hawk potluck — team colors, shared dishes, and plenty of rivalry spirit as we get ready to cheer on Saturday's big game.

Visionary New Site Launch: Title Services DM Corp

We're proud to share that Title Services DM Corp (TSCDM), providing fast and reliable abstracting and title services across all 99 Iowa counties, has launched a newly redesigned website. TSCDM has been a longstanding Visionary client, and this one gave us the chance to bring their online presence up to match where the business is headed.

The new site opens with a clean hero section built around their message, "Fast. Accurate. Reliable.", with a prominent Order Now button front and center so requests move faster on both ends.

The redesign includes:
• A new WordPress website with a clean, professional design
• The order form brought fully online, replacing the old manual process
• A new conditional contact form that routes inquiries straight to the right team member
• An interactive map with driving directions to the office
• Team photos and bios, giving visitors a more personal introduction to the team
• Mobile-friendly, fast-loading experience across every device

The previous site was due for an update, and the team wanted something that felt more professional and modern while making it easier for customers to reach the right person and place an order without the back-and-forth.

Since 1992, we've partnered with organizations across Iowa to build websites that are easier to use and easier to maintain. We're glad TSCDM trusted us to bring a fresh, modern presence to a business Iowans across all 99 counties rely on.

Visionary New Site Launch: Iowa Land Records

We're proud to share that Iowa Land Records (ILR), the statewide system connecting all 99 Iowa counties, has launched a newly redesigned public website. We partnered with ILR on a full site audit and new site design, and this one's been a favorite project for our team from day one.

The new site opens with a clean hero section, "Search. Submit. Succeed.", and simpler navigation throughout, so visitors can find what they need without digging.

The redesign includes:
• A new, ADA-compliant public website
• A new Recorder Hub
• An interactive Iowa County Recorder directory
• An interactive Iowa County Recorder map
• Simpler, more intuitive navigation
• Mobile-friendly design
• A new landing page for requesting an account
• Easier access to training and support resources

As the ILR team shared: "Over the years, users have shared ideas about making information easier to find and improving access to training and support." That feedback, from Iowa County Recorders, everyday users, and a dedicated Focus Group, shaped every decision in this redesign.

Since 1992, we've partnered with organizations across Iowa to build websites that are easier to use and easier to maintain. We're grateful ILR trusted us with a platform this many people depend on.

🍕📰🏆 They're on the cover AND they just won?!

Huge congrats to our Visionary website client Leaning Tower of Pizza, featured on the cover of Ankeny Living AND named this year's Best Pizza Establishment in the Ankeny/Northern Polk County Residents' Choice Awards! Talk about a double win. 🙌 🙌

Leaning Tower has been serving the Des Moines and Ankeny area for over 50 years. It started in Des Moines in the 1960s, moved to Ankeny in the '70s, and has been run by the Harrington family since 2001. Everything's made in-house, right down to pizzas baked the old-fashioned way in a stone deck oven. Seeing a local institution like this get the recognition they've earned is exactly why we love what we do.

Congrats to our wonderful client Kevin Harrington and the whole Leaning Tower team on this well-deserved win! 🍕🏆

Stop in and congratulate them yourself, or order a pie tonight: 512 SW 3rd St, Ankeny.
