In 2025 and 2026, Subaru released two limited BRZ special editions, one taking a subtle approach and the other with a brighter personality.
The 2025 Series.Purple was limited to 500 units and features Galaxy Purple Pearl, a deep color that shifts subtly depending on the light, paired with satin silver wheels. It keeps a more understated look while adding driver-focused touches like an STI short shifter and flexible V-bar.
The 2026 Series.Yellow is limited to just 350 units and features Sunrise Yellow, a bright, motorsport-inspired color with 18-inch matte black wheels and bold yellow accents. It leans further into performance with a track-tuned suspension and Brembo brakes.
Both take different approaches to the BRZ platform, which one fits your personality?

New or old? 👀 Some prefer new and modern, some enjoy nostalgia and heritage.
The VB WRX Series.Yellow is painted in Sunrise Yellow, limited to just 350 units and based on the tS trim. It’s bright, saturated, and instantly grabs attention, especially with the sharp VB body lines and black accents.
Then there’s the Impreza WRX STI (GC8) in Cashmere Yellow, limited to only 296 units. It’s softer and more toned-down, but that’s exactly what makes it unique, representing Subaru’s rally heritage.
Which one are you taking? SUNRISE or CASHMERE 👇

Remember these special editions? 👀
Back in the VA WRX era, Subaru gave us a few standout limited color releases, two of them being the iconic WRX STI Series.HyperBlue (2016) and WRX STI Series.Gray (2019).
The Series.HyperBlue came first, finished in Hyper Blue with black accents and exclusive interior details, and a few years later the Series.Gray took a different route with its Cool Gray Khaki paint, black wheels, and a more subtle color choice. Two completely different takes on the same platform.
Which one’s more your style? BLUE or GRAY 👇

Are we getting closer to the return of the WRX STI hatchback?
Subaru Japan has recently received patent approval for a WRX STI hatchback design, and the styling looks very similar to the Performance-B STI Concept that Subaru revealed earlier this year. Subaru hasn’t confirmed any plans for production yet, but seeing a design like this move through the patent process definitely has the community paying attention. After years without a new STI, even small signs like this are enough to spark excitement about what could be next.
So the question is… Would this be your dream WRX if Subaru released it? 👀

Next month, Initial D celebrates its 30th anniversary at Fuji Speedway in Japan. We loved seeing the influence of Initial D recently at Subiefest California--rumor has it that Bunta's car was entered in the car show. Here is our tribute to Initial D, and some builds inspired by the manga.
