Capitol View - Des Moines

Our first graders wrapped up EL Education Module 1 by putting their learning into action with an exciting “Magnificent Things” project! 🛠️💡

Students were challenged to design and create something useful and helpful for others. They dreamed up ideas, planned their designs, worked together, solved problems, and brought their creations to life!

And their magnificent ideas were AMAZING! 🤩

📚 Storage shelves to help organize our school
🧘 Calming fidgets to help students feel ready to learn
🔢 Number lines to support math learning
🚪 Signs to make our hallways more welcoming and helpful
…and so many other thoughtful creations!

Popsicles on the Playground was a huge hit!

Thank you to our dancers who helped us celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!

Thank you to all parent and families who helped our event.

Thank you to Superintendent Matt Smith for coming to our event.
