Today was a major win for Wichita, Derby, and the future of Kansas aviation.

It was great to welcome Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg along with U.S. Senators Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall to our district as Boeing announced a $1 billion investment in Kansas operations over the next three years.

This investment strengthens Kansas’ role as the Air Capital of the World, supports high quality jobs, and sends a strong message that our workforce and aviation industry continue to lead the nation.

Over the past two days, I joined legislative leaders from across the country at the NCSL Leadership Symposium.

We spent time studying leadership lessons from Lexington, Concord, and Bunker Hill while discussing how leaders today navigate uncertainty, division, and responsibility in public service.

One thing history makes clear is that leadership is never about one person. The best leaders build trust, work with others, and stay focused on serving something bigger than themselves.

No matter the title, public service should always start with humility and a willingness to listen, learn, and serve the people who placed their trust in you.

I appreciated the opportunity to represent Kansas, learn from leaders from every corner of the country, and bring those lessons home as we continue working to move our state forward.

Boeing Donates $380,000 to Support Wichita STEM, Veterans and Food Access Programs 05/04/2026

Boeing continues to show why Wichita is the Air Capital of the World.

This week, Boeing announced a $380,000 investment right here in our community supporting STEM education, veterans, and families in need. That includes funding for outstanding local partners like Wichita State, WSU Tech, the Kansas Food Bank, and right here in our district, the Kansas Aviation Museum.

The Kansas Aviation Museum will use this support to expand programs that inspire the next generation of aviation and STEM leaders reaching hundreds of students through hands on learning and field trips.

Strong partnerships between industry and community institutions like this are exactly how we build the workforce of tomorrow while supporting families today.

Proud to represent a district where aviation innovation and community investment go hand in hand.

Honored to be with the Wichita Area Builders Association tonight as they celebrate 75 years of building strong communities across Kansas.

This evening, we also took time to honor the life and legacy of Wess Galyon a man who made a lasting impact on the home building industry and on so many people in this room. His leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence helped shape not just homes, but the future of our communities.

Grateful for the builders, leaders, and families who continue that work every day. Kansas is stronger because of you.
