Our pets have opinions about everything, including plumbing.

The cat treats an open toilet lid like a throne. The dog sees the bowl as a personal spa. And the moment a toolbox opens, your furry supervisor appears for the inspection. 😄

A little prevention goes a long way: keep toilet lids closed and use childproof latches on under-sink cabinets. If a pet chews a supply line, or a toy takes an unexpected trip through the pipes and the water won’t drain, stop flushing and call a licensed plumber. That’s a call, not a guessing game.

Plunge Plus Plumbing is locally owned and operated since May 2009, licensed and insured, and committed to showing up on time, fixing it right the first time, and providing transparent pricing with no surprises, backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee.

We’re available 8 AM–8 PM, Monday through Saturday, and closed Sundays.

Save this for your pet’s next plumbing inspection and tag a friend whose furry roommate has done at least one of these things! 🐾

Does your toilet rock or shift when you sit down? That small wobble may mean the toilet is no longer seated tightly on the closet fl**ge, or that the wax ring has failed.

If ignored, water can seep under the base, staining or softening the floor, warping the subfloor, or even leaving water marks on the ceiling below. A loose toilet may also allow a faint sewer smell into the bathroom.

Tightening the base bolts alone is not a real fix if the fl**ge or wax ring is compromised. Repeatedly re-caulking the base, or ignoring the movement, can make the problem worse. Check for a soft or stained floor, an odor, or water marks below, and have the toilet inspected instead of simply re-tightened.

The good news: this is a common, usually straightforward repair. Plunge Plus Plumbing provides written pricing before work begins, with no surprises. We’re licensed and insured, locally owned and operated since 2009, and committed to showing up on time and fixing it right the first time, with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Seeing tiny beads of water on your toilet tank or bowl when the weather turns cooler? It may be condensation, not a leak.

Warm, humid bathroom air meets the cold porcelain surface, creating moisture much like a cold drink “sweats.” Better room ventilation and slightly warmer, drier air can often reduce it.

Take a closer look if the moisture returns after you dry the tank, the toilet continues refilling or running, or the bathroom stays unusually humid. A continuously running toilet can keep the tank colder, while persistent puddles near the supply connection or base may point to a true leak.

When you need help, Plunge Plus Plumbing shows up on time, provides transparent pricing with no surprises, and aims to fix it right the first time. We’re licensed and insured, locally owned and operated since May 2009, and back every job with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Things that go drip in the night… 👻

• The water heater’s low rumble
• The pipe knock right after a flush
• The 2 a.m. drip you only hear when you’re trying to sleep
• The disposal’s mysterious growl
• The guest bathroom toilet that starts running once everyone’s in bed

Some are harmless house noises. Others (especially persistent dripping, a running toilet, or repeated pipe knocking) are worth a closer look.

Tree roots don’t need a big opening to cause a sewer-line problem.

In older Denver-area neighborhoods, aging clay tile and cast-iron sewer lines can develop tiny cracks, worn joints, or loose connections. Roots seek out the moisture, grow into those openings, and slowly tighten their grip.

Watch for:
Slow drains at more than one fixture
Water backing up into a basement floor drain or laundry sink
Gurgling toilets
Backups that return after heavy rain or snowmelt

Store-bought chemical root treatments may offer a short-term patch, but repeated use can be hard on aging pipes, and they don’t show you the underlying problem.

A sewer camera inspection is the useful next step. It can show the exact location and size of the root mass, whether the pipe is cracked, offset, or sagging, and provide footage with a written scope. That helps you compare a spot repair, spot lining, or larger replacement before deciding.

You can help by locating the sewer cleanout now, keeping grease and wipes out of drains, and avoiding repeated snaking of the same line while hoping it stays clear.

Call a licensed plumber when backups repeat, several drains slow at once, or you notice a soggy patch in the yard. Plunge Plus Plumbing has been locally owned and operated since May 2009. We’re licensed and insured, show up on time, treat your home like our own, and focus on fixing it right the first time, with transparent pricing, no surprises, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

Your water heater may give you warning before it gives out, so it’s worth planning ahead.

Colorado’s updated standards for new residential gas water heaters took effect January 1, 2026. Replacement units must meet ultra-low NOx standards or carry current ENERGY STAR certification. Some propane models may also be harder to source.

Before cold weather arrives, check your water heater’s age using the serial-number date code or the installation date on its label. Conventional tanks commonly last about 8–12 years. When replacement time comes, the new unit may differ from your current model in size, venting, or available fuel options. Government efficiency labels can make models easier to compare.

Planning before a failure gives you time to review options and receive written pricing instead of making a rushed decision without hot water.

Every Denver-area home has one: the mystery plumbing-parts drawer. 🛠️

Inside? A faucet handle, a few washers, an O-ring, some Teflon tape, a mysterious brass fitting, and the old aerator from a faucet replaced years ago. Nobody remembers what most of it goes to, but everything is staying “just in case.”

Somehow, the drawer outlives the fixtures it came from. And honestly? Keeping a few spare parts is completely normal, and a little endearing.

But if a drip, running toilet, or leak keeps coming back, guessing with the mystery parts may not solve the cause. A licensed plumber can identify the right part and make the repair properly.

Plunge Plus Plumbing is locally owned and operated since May 2009, licensed and insured, and proud to serve Denver and surrounding communities. We show up on time, fix it right the first time, and treat your home like our own, with transparent pricing, no surprises, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee.

The plunger is one of the most misunderstood tools in the house. Here’s the friendly version of how to use one correctly:

1. Use the right tool. A flat cup plunger is for sinks and tubs. A fl**ge, or bell, plunger has an extra rubber lip that seals inside a toilet’s trapway.
2. Add water. If the toilet bowl is nearly empty, add a cup or two so the plunger has something to push against.
3. Seal and push. Use steady, firm strokes, not frantic stabbing. Keep the seal and make 15–20 good pushes.
4. Keep them separate. A toilet plunger should never visit your kitchen sink.
5. Know when to stop. If water backs up into a tub or another fixture, or a second honest attempt doesn’t help, the problem may be a main-line clog. More plunging could mean a bigger mess.

A plunger is not a snake, and never combine chemical drain cleaner with plunging.

If the clog won’t budge, Plunge Plus can clear it and explain what we find. You’ll receive written pricing before work begins. Licensed and insured, locally owned and operated since 2009.

That small water line behind your refrigerator is easy to forget, and a quiet leak there can go unnoticed for weeks.

Check for cracked or brittle plastic tubing, kinks where the refrigerator was pushed back, damp spots, or tiny bubbles around the connections. Locate the small shut-off valve behind the refrigerator or under the sink so you know how to stop the water quickly.

If the plastic line is aging, pinched, or frequently moved, replacing it with braided stainless-steel tubing can provide a more durable connection. If you find an active leak, corrosion, damaged fittings, or water near flooring or cabinets, turn off the valve and call a licensed plumber.

We’re licensed and insured, arrive on time, treat your home like our own, and aim to fix it right the first time, with transparent pricing, no surprises, and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Low water flow at one faucet? The aerator may be the culprit, not your whole plumbing system.

Try this simple inspection:
1. Unscrew the aerator by hand. If it is stubborn, avoid forcing it or scratching the finish with pliers.
2. Separate the screen and small parts, then soak them in white vinegar to dissolve mineral buildup.
3. Check the screen and gasket for debris, rinse everything thoroughly, and reassemble by hand without overtightening.

If one faucet has weak flow or sprays sideways, buildup in the aerator is usually the cause. But if water flow is low at every fixture, the issue may be more significant, such as a supply or water-pressure problem. That calls for a licensed plumber.

Corroded, seized, or damaged aerators and faucets are best handled by a professional.
