Our theme for June is CURATE. It was chosen by our Orange County chapter in California, illustrated by Fred Villa, and is presented by Adobe.

Our Orange County chapter had this to say about the significance of this month’s theme:

“To us, curate is about perspective. In a world overflowing with information, content, ideas, and tools, the ability to curate—to choose, shape, and sequence—has become more powerful than simply knowing or creating. It’s no longer just about the outcome, but about crafting a thoughtful and meaningful experience that reflects a deeper creative vision.”

You can curate your wardrobe, the perfect playlist, and your instagram grid. But every creative act is an exercise in curation. The writer picks which sentence stays and which gets cut. The designer chooses the ideal font out of thousands available. The photographer frames the right shot at the right time.

But curation is not just selection. It’s about attention. What do you let in? What do you choose to care about? Each of us is a curator of our own inner museum: a gallery of the influences we honor and the collection of ideas we pursue.

We live in a time of overwhelming abundance. Instead of obsessing over what looks good together, contemplate why your choices belong together. Distill your taste into a point of view that is uniquely yours. Then ruthlessly express it in your work and how you live your life.

What’s your ember? 🔥

That quiet spark. The idea that won’t leave you alone. The warmth you carry even when the world feels a little cold.

For April’s Ember theme, we asked our community to name theirs… and then gathered to fan those sparks into something bright together. 💜

From thoughtful answers to laughter, hugs, and a room full of creative energy, this morning was one to feel.

Let’s take it all the way back… to 2013 ✨🚀

The very first CreativeMornings Denver gathering—where the coffee was hot, the crowd was curious, and the stage was set for something special.

And who better to kick things off than a chef who turns food into magic?

🍬 Meet Chef Ian Kleinman!

Back in 2013, we kicked things off with Colorado’s own Chef Ian Kleinman—a molecular gastronomy pioneer and founder of The Inventing Room, known for turning food into playful, mind-bending magic.

And honestly… that’s exactly what CreativeMornings is all about.
From that very first gathering to today, we’ve been fueled by the same spirit: curiosity, connection, and a little bit of wonder.

💜 Here’s to where we started—and all the magic still ahead.

This month, we gather around the theme EMBER with filmmaker Ty Bradford.

Some ideas don’t arrive as fireworks… they start as embers.

Ty Bradford is an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker working across narrative features, documentaries, and commercials. After time at Walt Disney Studios, he founded Denver-based Ovo Films, where he creates bold, cinematic work.

His latest film, UCK — a practical-effects horror-comedy — is his third feature as writer and director.

Join us as we explore how small sparks turn into powerful stories.

Tickets available next Monday!

Our theme for April is EMBER. It was chosen by our Poulsbo chapter in Washington and illustrated by Sarah Gordon.

The literal meaning of ember is a small piece of burning or glowing coal or wood in a dying fire. But as a metaphor, it means so much more.

Our Poulsbo chapter had this to say about the significance of this month's theme:

“Embers represent the quiet, enduring remnants of fire—what remains after the intensity fades. They carry a smoldering potential, a subtle strength that holds heat long after the flames have gone. As a quieter community outside the city, we may not always burn the brightest, but we never burn out. Our spark lives in reflection, resilience, and the space we have to pause, think, and grow.

In those calm moments, we find what many others miss: the steady glow of ideas, relationships, and dreams that don’t need noise to thrive. Embers remind us that even after challenges or change, something powerful remains—ready to reignite when needed. We hold that same quiet fire within ourselves, and in community with each other, we kindle more.

Together, we tend the quiet fire—fueling one another through presence, care, and shared warmth.”

What ember is quietly glowing inside you? And what new fire will it ignite in your life?
