DU Rugby is proud to announce the largest matching campaign in the club’s history—a defining opportunity to shape the future of our program.

This year, we are launching the Class of 2026 Legacy Campaign, a tribute to a group that has helped elevate the standard of DU Rugby and position the program for long-term success.

At last year’s alumni banquet, we introduced a $30,000 match. This year, through the generosity of an anonymous donor contributing $100,000, along with the support of former coaches Stu Halsall and Allan Wilson adding an additional $25,000, we have expanded that number significantly.

For the next 12 months, every dollar donated will be matched up to $125,000.
This is a unique moment for our program. If we take full advantage of this opportunity, we have the ability to triple our endowment and take a major step toward securing the long-term future of DU Rugby.

FINAL: DU 28 | MINES 19 While this year’s tournament wasn’t an official qualifier, the level of competition didn’t drop. Every program showed up ready to play, and it made for a quality day of rugby across the board. For us, it was another opportunity to grow. We brought a mixed squad, missing two of our top try scorers and carrying a couple of injuries, but that opened the door to spread minutes and build depth. Across matches against Mines, Colorado College, UTEP, and New Mexico Tech, all 15 players saw the field and made real contributions. Going undefeated at High Peaks for the third year in a row is a strong statement from this group. More importantly, it speaks to the consistency, adaptability, and buy-in across the entire squad—not just a select few. In every game including the final, we emptied the bench and had all 12 players get quality minutes. That says everything about the depth of this team. It’s not just a starting seven—something you see with a lot of teams—it’s a full squad that can step in, perform, and maintain the standard. Plenty to build on as we turn our focus toward the great Midwest next weekend.
