⚖️WELCOMING DENVER: Mayor Mike Johnston, our Denver Human Rights & Community Partnerships team, and community partners recently came together for the Denver Immigrant Legal Services Fund (DILSF) Reception to celebrate the impact of legal support services and reaffirm our commitment to expanding access to opportunity for Denver's immigrant communities.

The evening highlighted the incredible difference this fund has made in the lives of thousands of Denver residents and their families. To date, the Denver Immigrant Legal Services Fund has disbursed more than $5 million to local nonprofit organizations and supported more than 8,300 residents and their families with critical legal services and resources. 🤝

Thanks to the generosity of attendees, partners, and supporters, the reception raised $14,000 to further support this important work. Together, we are helping build a more welcoming, equitable, and inclusive Denver while expanding access to stability, opportunity, and belonging for our community members.

🗺️Denver is proud to officially welcome Dnipro, Ukraine as a Friendship City! Yesterday, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and Mayor Borys Filatov signed a historic Friendship City Agreement, marking an important step toward strengthening international connections through cultural exchange, civic engagement, and community partnership.

This milestone reflects the incredible work and collaboration of Denver Sister Cities International, the Denver-Dnipro Friendship Committee, Ukrainians of Colorado, and community partners dedicated to building meaningful global relationships.

The agreement also lays the foundation for deeper future collaboration and the potential development of a formal Sister City relationship in the years ahead.

Together, Denver and Dnipro are building bridges rooted in resilience, friendship, and shared values. 🤝

Last night, a young person lost their life due to senseless gun violence. No statement can sum up the grief we feel today. Our hearts are broken, and we are left stunned by the fact that our beloved Montbello Rec Center has become the site of such a terrible tragedy. My deepest sympathies are with the family and the Montbello community.

HAPPENING NOW: Today at Denver’s Immigrant & Refugee Town Hall hosted by our Immigrant & Refugee Commission, community members came together to hear directly from city leaders about the work being done every day to ensure everyone who calls Denver home feels welcomed, supported, and able to thrive.

Thank you to Mayor Mike Johnston, Denver Police Department Chief Ron Thomas, Denver Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Alex Marrero, Denver Health Medical Director Dr. Ro Pereira, our moderator, Denver Zoo Conservation Alliance CEO Cristal Torres DeHerera, and all the community partners who are now sharing information, answering questions, and helping strengthen connections across our city.

Denver is strongest when every community member, regardless of where they come from, has access to resources, opportunity, safety, and a sense of belonging. Grateful to everyone who attended and continues working to build a more inclusive and compassionate community.
