Has anyone else ever done any beams like these? They are some of my favorite I’ve built!

Here are some photos of some arched trusses and a barrel roll foyer ceiling I did recently. I'm always on here with opinions. My turn to take the heat. Lol what's the verdict.

30’ tall and 30’ wide. All oak the stair soffit was the most difficult par.

Has anyone ever built a stringer like this ?? Who says old things last longer

Gravity Furnace
Looked at a house today. It had a gravity furnace, not something I’m familiar with.

Would A/C be able to be added to something like this or would it need to be removed and a traditional central air furnace installed?

Obviously a huge price range, but if someone has advice/estimates for A/C install with a current gravity heating system I’d like to hear your input.

Fair quote for blower wheel cleaning?
Hey folks, I was quoted $620 to pull and clean this blower wheel on my variable-speed Carrier heat pump. Does this need cleaning and is it a fair price? Tech said it wasn't super urgent but recommended it.

For context the unit is about 5-6 years old and I moved in about a year ago.

Is it normal to have a sweet scent coming out of the air flow of a fan coil unit?
I bought a new apartment around 3 months ago, and from when we bought it there was a sort of sweet scent that my best comparator for is a wet popsicle stick.

Ever since we've moved in we have continued to occasionally be able to smell this smell when standing right in front of the air vent - it is only happening with one of the 2 (condensation) fan coil units is actively cooling, and the cooler it is it seems to be stronger.

I've had multiple HVAC technicians as well as my building come take a look at the unit - none was able to pinpoint the source of the smell and the unit is in perfect working order. They think it is smells from other units leaking in whether it be from the intake on the balcony or through other means, but I've checked the outside when the scent is present and there wasn't anything that smelled like it.

Has anyone noticed a similar scent before? Could it be from the water that is cooling the unit? Maybe something with the housing of the unit itself? Would love any and all advice.

Gree mini split blower motor
My head units were making a ton of noise. I found tons of videos changing out the bearings on the blower motor. I did most of the install of this unit myself so I figured I had that handled.

Got the motor out, it won't pop out of the casing. I give it a little strength and pop it out to find that a piece of the electronics board is glued to the casing and I've now broken it.

The electronics board is clearly blocking the motor from popping out so I can't get to the bearing on the other side anyway.

At the very least I think I need to buy a new motor, at the worst I have to buy a new head unit.

What do I need to consider about this mess? Do I really need to bring my HVAC guy in?

I've seen people replace the gree one specifically and none of them looked like this. I included the model number plate on the outside unit and the front of the manual for the inside units. I can't remember which model specifically I have.

Can I even get any blower motor or do I need this specific one that's encased in plastic where you can't get inside?

Is this ok?
BLUF: Is ok to leave these like this or should I elevate them by attaching them to the rafters?

First time homeowner here. These ducts are from the exhaust fans in our full bath (closest duct) and half bath (furthest duct). The Inspector noted this in the report as well as that he didn't see any signs of moisture issues. So I figured it was a simple fix of just connecting more ducts and routing them to the exhaust vent.

But now seeing this actually in person and realizing there's no real vent hookup that these two could attach to, I'm unsure how to proceed. There is a vent just to the left of everything that allows airflow, I assume this helps with the moisture control.

With that being said, am I able to just leave the ducts as they are or should get some steel straps and attach the ducts to the rafters so that they are off the attic insulation?

Any advice would greatly be appreciated!
