Some places almost seem too beautiful to be real - but these destinations somehow live up to the photos. From alpine villages to volcanic landscapes, here are 7 picturesque corners of the world that are just as stunning in person (let us know which spots we forgot) 👇

Alpe di Siusi, Italy
Rolling green meadows, tiny alpine huts, and the jagged peaks of the Dolomites surrounding you in every direction - Alpe di Siusi looks almost unreal in photos, but somehow feels even more dramatic in person.

Los Glaciares National Park, Argentina
Massive glaciers, electric blue ice, and rugged Patagonian peaks make this national park feel raw and untouched, all while offering incredible beauty in every direction.

Shirakawa-go, Japan
This small mountain village feels like stepping into another era. Traditional thatched-roof farmhouses surrounded by rice fields and misty mountains make it beautiful year-round, but many people find it especially magical when covered in snow during winter.

Komodo National Park, Indonesia
Bright turquoise water, pink sand beaches, dramatic cliffs, and some of the best snorkeling on earth - Komodo National Park lives up to every tropical travel photo you’ve ever seen.

The Icelandic Highlands
The Icelandic Highlands look almost otherworldly, with black volcanic deserts, neon green moss, steaming geothermal areas, and colorful rhyolite mountains.

Machu Picchu, Peru
Even after seeing thousands of photos, nothing prepares you for watching the clouds lift over the ancient stone ruins high in the Andes. The scale, history, and setting make Machu Picchu feel far more dramatic in person.

Madeira, Portugal
Madeira combines steep green cliffs, waterfalls, volcanic coastline, and colorful seaside towns all in one island. The scenery feels cinematic almost everywhere you go - especially along the island’s famous coastal hikes.

5 things to add to your Iceland travel bucket list 🇮🇸 Which one would you do first? 👀

1. Soak in a natural hot spring
From geothermal lagoons to hidden mountain pools, Iceland has natural hot springs scattered all over the country - and yes, they’re every bit as magical as they look in photos.

2. Get up close and personal with Iceland’s waterfalls
Iceland has thousands of waterfalls, and a lot of them are so accessible you can walk right up beside them (prepare to get soaked).

3. See Icelandic horses roaming the countryside
Small, sturdy, and surprisingly friendly, Icelandic horses are one of the country’s most iconic sights. You’ll spot them everywhere once you leave Reykjavík.

4. Experience the northern lights
If you’re visiting in winter, seeing the aurora dance across the sky is one of those things that actually lives up to the hype.

5. Go on a puffin cruise
Iceland is home to millions of puffins during nesting season, and boat tours give you a chance to see these tiny, chaotic birds up close along the cliffs and coastline.
