The nickname comes from its boxy, slab-sided design, but underneath that simple look was a big change for Ford.
The 1949 Ford was the first completely new postwar Ford design, with integrated fenders and a more modern chassis. And yes, you could get it with Ford’s legendary Flathead V8.

1991 GMC Typhoon
One of the coolest and most unusual performance SUVs of the early ’90s.
What made the Typhoon special was the combination of turbo power + all-wheel drive + SUV practicality. For its day, it was ridiculously quick!
