Join us this Friday at The Audacious Space for Monster Open Mic Night!
While we especially love performances inspired by fantasy, folklore, mythology, the supernatural, cryptids, fairies, witches, vampires, monsters, and all things magical, we’re welcoming creativity of every variety. Human creatures are invited too.
Whether you’re performing or just coming to enjoy an evening of weird and wonderful art, pull up a chair and spend the night with fellow storytellers, dreamers, and creatures of the night.

Not all supernaturals have multiple magical abilities. But our actors definitely do! Audacious has always been a collaborative company that collects theater artists who are multidisciplinary. We’re prop makers, musicians, writers, dancers, and sometimes…illustrators!
The adorable illustrations of the individual characters in our Van Helsing Society Murder Mystery were a cast gift from our newest actor/artist, Ashley Hunt (who played Renfield). The group illustration is by our longtime collaborator, ensemble member, and Mistress of Props, Rachel Lowman (who played Larry the Frogman)

This Friday, Magic Making & Mocktails returns with Fairy Mask Making — just in time for our Midsummer Nightmare Staged Reading and Soiree
We’ll provide the materials, the mocktail, and plenty of fae inspiration. You’ll leave with a handmade mask perfect for midsummer mischief, a fantasy date night, or looking mysteriously beautiful while evading dangerously vague contractual engagements and living your best cottagecore life.

This month’s Lorecast Live Recording + Monster Meet & Greet invites you inside the Van Helsing Society Archives for a live creature-lore experience all about aquatic supernaturals: mermaids, Merrow, Sirens, Ningyo, and the Kraken.
Join Renfield and Eclipse — a mesmerizing mermaid guest expert with strong opinions about classification, shipwreck acoustics, beautiful men, and cake — for an in-world recording full of folklore, comedy, audience interaction, and supernatural scholarship.
After the recording, stay for the Monster Meet & Greet: ask questions, take photos, meet featured creatures, and get a closer look at the Society’s aquatic archives.

Every Thursday night, step inside the Van Helsing Society Headquarters for a one-shot tabletop adventure full of monsters, myths, mystery, and magical trouble.
Each week features a brand-new in-world mission led by an in-character Game Master, so new players and experienced dice-rollers can drop in, play a full story, and be part of the Society for the night.
Every weekly adventure builds toward one larger EPIC Society event in August, where multiple tables will take on the same supernatural mission and shape the story together.
