As temperatures rise and families head to pools, lakes, and waterways, the Denison Fire Department wants to remind everyone that water safety should always come first.

Our summer safety slogan says it best:
🦺 **"For water safety fun, put a life jacket on!"** 🦺

Whether you're boating, fishing, kayaking, or enjoying a day at the lake, wearing a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket can save your life. Even strong swimmers can find themselves in unexpected situations on the water.

One of the best ways to stay safe around water is to learn how to swim. Swimming lessons help build confidence and can significantly reduce drowning risks for children. Here is a link for more information about local swim lessons.

Huge thank you to Legend Martial Arts Summer Camp for inviting the Denison Fire Department out to spend time with the campers and show off one of our fire engines! 🚒

Our crew had a great time meeting everyone, giving the kids a closer look at the fire engine and equipment, and talking with them about the importance of fire safety. We always enjoy opportunities to connect with our community and help teach kids how to stay safe.

Thank you for the warm welcome and for allowing us to be part of your summer camp experience. We appreciate your support and look forward to visiting again soon!

We were honored to welcome Air Evac to the Denison Fire Department for an incredible training experience and helicopter demonstration. Thank you to the Air Evac crew for taking the time to educate our team on helicopter operations, patient transport procedures, safety protocols, and the important role air medical services play in emergency response.

Opportunities like this strengthen teamwork and coordination between agencies, helping us better serve our community when every second counts. We appreciate your partnership, professionalism, and dedication to saving lives.
