The next meeting of the Comprehensive Plan Update Committee (CPUC) is Tuesday, July 27th at 6:00 PM!

The discussion will center around existing and desired future land uses within the hamlets and surrounding areas of the town.

Being in person (finally) was a real treat, even though the rain on the metal roof made it a bit challenging to hear!! 🌧

Thanks for adjusting gracefully with us as we enter this new era of “post-Covid” meeting arrangements. We are doing our best to accommodate as many meeting preferences as possible!

“Dump no waste. Drains to creek.” 🐟

All the rain we are getting here these days? It’s gotta go somewhere… If it rains a lot, especially over a short period of time, and the water is not all naturally absorbed by plants, grass, trees, and soil, then the extra water (called “storm water runoff”) ends up flowing into these storm water drains in our streets.
***
The rain water that flows into storm water drains runs directly into nearby creeks, which flow directly into the Hudson River.
***
In order to let people know that these street drains are for clean storm water only, sometimes organizations will paint signage nearby to help educate about the purpose of these drains.
***
Have you seen any of these pavement signs around town? This one is on Elm Av, south of Delaware Av.
