Delaware County Law Library

This year, the State Library of Ohio is on the move to a new location. It has been in several places, including inside the Ohio Statehouse when it originally opened to state government in 1857. It then moved into the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center in 1933.

In 1817, the State Library was founded with just over 500 books selected by Thomas Worthington and was housed with other state offices in a building on the Statehouse grounds. When it was in the Statehouse, it was housed in an area on the second and third floors on the north side of the building, as shown here in this picture. By the time they opened in the state office building in the 1930s, they had over 330,000 volumes and periodicals to pack and move. In 2001, they opened in the newly renovated Jeffrey Mining Corporate Center. We wish them luck as they move into their fifth home in Columbus in their 209-year history!

DCDL to offer free daily printing - Delaware Gazette After careful consideration and research, the Delaware County District Library (DCDL) has decided to offer limited free printing to all cardholders. Starting Monday, July 20, patrons can utilize up to $3 in free printing every day just by using their library card.
