I am writing to inform you that Del Rio News Network/Del Rio Now will cease operations beginning June 7, 2026. The business will enter a selling phase. For those who are interested in purchasing Del Rio Now/Del Rio News Network, email us at [email protected].
I want to thank those who believed in our mission and goals. For a time, we produced an advanced live morning show that set a new standard for quality and professionalism in Del Rio.
For another moment we were able to modernize the newspaper and bring back delivery. We even highlighted Del Rio's best Meteorologist, Alexander G. Menchaca who to this day still provides top-tier weather coverage for OUR CITY!
We stand by our high social media/website statistics, young and diverse audience, and quality 100%.
We also want to thank anyone who advertised with us or supported us. Your belief in what Del Rio could be and sharing the importance of providing easy to understand updates and information to our growing community says a lot about you and your business!
Additionally, we understand that not everyone who subscribed to our newspaper in 2025 received their refund and we'd like to take some time to provide information on how you can submit a form to get it back. Please click on the link in this post to state your name, phone number, subscription plan, and address. We will get back to you in the coming months to get your money back to you.
As I step down from my role as President of Del Rio News Network, I hope to see you all again in a different capacity when I find my next venture that will help our city thrive and grow.
With much gratitude and appreciation,
Willard Jenkins

On 5/25/26, at 2:20 pm,
I would like to take a moment to commemorate the lives lost 11 years ago today in our neighboring city of Acuna, Coahuila.
Today, marks the 11th anniversary of the devastating tornado that struck Acuna between 5:30 am and 6:00 am, resulting in nine fatalities and damage to over 1,500 homes.
Records indicate that the tornado remained on the ground for approximately 6 minutes and was unofficially rated as an EF3-EF4.
This event was one I deeply remember and stays with me as I had just recently graduated from A&M and return to Del Rio. I even had my whole family awake and in shelter as this storm actually tracked over Del Rio shortly but the tornado had lifted leaving a mesocyclone spinning right over the city according to some reports.
This was before I created the online page that you see today as well as was the main reason that Del Rio Weather Alerts was created and why I do what I do today. I appreciate the support and always it’s about keeping everyone safe and providing you the knowledge you need. Predictions may change but always be assured that you will be notified of any potential that may occur in the area.
I attached a radar snip I had took the night of the storm and circled the potential area that was showing significant rotation. It is an example of the Severe potential that is possible for the local area during severe weather season.
The page Soy de Acuñita Ranch did a great job on their commemorative post and shows some photos and videos of the damage that took place.
As well as I will attached the link of the article covering the storm 11 years ago in the comments.
As always stay weather aware and God Bless.
