You should be a monster.

Everyone says, "Well, you should be harmless, virtuous, you shouldn't do anyone any harm, you should sheath your competitive instinct. You shouldn't try to win. You don't want to be too aggressive. You don't want to be too assertive."

No. Wrong. You should be a monster, an absolute monster, and then you should learn how to control it.

"It's better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener in a war."

Today is September 1st which means several new laws passed go into effect. We’d like to focus on one major one; Senate Bill 1927, which is Permitless Carry, otherwise known as Constitutional Carry.

Starting today, this new law allows anyone who can legally own a firearm to carry it in public as long as it’s in a holster.

Who CAN carry a firearm:

1. Anyone over 21 years or older who can legally possess a firearm.
2. Anyone who is not a fugitive from justice.
3. Anyone who is not chemically dependent.
4. Anyone who has not been convicted in the previous five (5) years of a Class A or Class B misdemeanor or disorderly conduct.
5. Anyone who in the past ten (10) years has not been adjudicated as having engaged in delinquent conduct violating a felony.
6. Anyone who is not under a protective order or restraining order affecting a spousal relationship.

Places you CANNOT carry a firearm:

1. Schools, school activities, and school buses
2. Voting places
3. Courts or offices used by the court
4. Racetracks
5. Airports past security
6. Bars
7. Sporting Events (High School, College or Professional etc.)
8. Correctional Facilities
9. Hospitals
10. Nursing Homes
11. Governmental open meetings if notice is provided

Private businesses and other properties can still prohibit the carrying of a firearm if they choose to by posting notice under the Texas Penal Code 30.05.

Please be aware of the great responsibility of possessing and carrying a firearm.

For more information and details, refer to HB 1927 as the above information is only a brief synopsis of the bill.
