Want to put your skills to the test? Be part of the USA BMX Freestyle Digital Series!

Now through Oct. 19, head to St. Charles County Kinetic Park and record your 45-second, unedited run to submit for the competition.

Come out, ride, record your run, cheer on your fellow riders or help capture the action! It’s a great opportunity to get the BMX community together and show off your skills.

Historic Fitness Day

St. Charles County Parks and Public Health are teaming up with local fitness clubs to host a family fitness day for our community! This free event transforms historic activities into fitness challenges adapted for all abilities. Forget the sled push—have you ever tried a land sledge pull? If you’re looking for a way to cool off during this October heat, our water play areas are still open while the warm weather sticks around.

Paddleboard among the trees as they showcase colors of red, orange, and gold at our 25-acre lake at The Park at New Melle Lakes. A handful of sessions are available, both 1.5 hours long. A brief lesson on how to paddleboard will be given before hitting the water.

This program is for ages 12 and up. Cost is $10 per person. Space is limited; pre-registration is required. Check the Rainout Line for program updates for poor weather conditions.

Open House and Pumpkin Drop

📅 9 a.m.–3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24
📍 St. Charles County Regional Airport – Smartt Field

Check out experimental and home-built aircraft, view historic military aircraft and vehicles, tour the Commemorative Air Force Museum, and more!

At 10 a.m., the pumpkin drop begins! Then, at noon, the World War II B-25 Mitchell and TBM Avenger bombers will “carpet bomb” a target with pumpkins.

Call St. Charles Flying Service at 636-946-6066 to participate in the pumpkin drop.
Contact the Commemorative Air Force at 636-250-4515 to take a ride in a historic Warbird aircraft.

Think The Amazing Race meets Survivor! Compete in challenges, test your skills and work together as you race your way through the Wild Family Nature Challenge.

📅 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24

Family groups of up to five members will race through nature- and skill-based challenges at select St. Charles County parks. From survival skills to nature identification, these activities require teamwork as you compete for a small prize and bragging rights.

Prior to the event, hints will be emailed to each team captain to help you prepare for the day.
Registered family groups must include 2-5 participants ages 8 and up. Younger siblings may attend under adult supervision but do not count toward registration.

Teams will travel from one park to another, observing posted speed limits, within an allotted time frame.

Good sportsmanship is required. Pre-registration is required.
