BREAKING: Cullman County Student Elected 2025 Governor of Alabama Girls State

Holly Pond High School’s rising senior, Missy Williams, has made history in Tuscaloosa by being elected the 2025 Governor of Alabama Girls State—a prestigious honor awarded by a vote of over 400 of her peers. According to school officials, Missy is not only the first student from Holly Pond to earn the title, but the first ever from the entire Cullman Area to do so.

Missy’s leadership and dedication were recognized on a statewide stage, and her accomplishment is being celebrated by classmates, family, and the community alike.

Her proud father, Morris Williams, shared, “I am so very proud of my little girl.”

Congratulations to Missy on this incredible achievement—we know this is just the beginning!

ALA Unit 15 Morgan County hosted our annual Girls State Orientation for the 5 young ladies we are sponsoring for the 2025 American Legion Girls State.
We were joined by 5 of the 11 young ladies being sponsored by ALA Unit 4 from Cullman, AL. Our guest speaker was Mary Francis of Hartselle, AL who was the 2024 ALA Alabama Girls State Governor!
What an exciting opportunity for these young ladies!

The American Legion Chapter 15 Riders were deeply honored to lead activities for the 13th Annual Drill Competition hosted by Post 15.

We were especially proud to support the next generation and witness the power of community coming together. Thank you to everyone who made the event possible, and a special salute to the cadets who gave it their all on the drill pad.

Thank you to all The American Legion Family of Post 15 that put in the time and effort to allow these students to enjoy a day of competition and camaraderie!

Requesting prayers that our veterans will b safely relocated until repairs are made. 🙏🏼
