The more you know!

Attendance is not only about whether students come to school. It is also about whether they find meaningful reasons to stay engaged when they get there.

According to the Texas Cultural Trust’s 2025 State of the Arts Report, Texas high school students who enrolled in more arts courses had attendance rates two percentage points higher than students with minimal arts participation—the equivalent of approximately six additional school days each year.

This finding shows a meaningful relationship between sustained Fine Arts participation and school attendance. It does not suggest that the arts are the only factor influencing attendance—but it reinforces what educators see every day: connection, purpose and belonging matter.

Fine Arts classrooms give students a place to create, contribute, build relationships and become part of something larger than themselves.

When students are meaningfully engaged in school, showing up matters.

Our theatre students are working hard on their class monologues. Reciting Hamlet’s advice to his players is challenging but our students are rising to the challenge!

We don’t know how YOU learn lines, but we run lines in a variety of settings with different methods so students memorize material and faster!
