On Sunday, my dad went home to be with the Lord. He was a good man, a good father, a faithful husband to my mom for 48 years and one of my heroes. Nearly all the things that he loved, now I love: God’s Word, family, the Lord’s Day, music, Italian food, songwriting, soccer, the Yankees. When I was a young boy, he walked with me down the aisle when I was ready to receive Jesus as my Savior and Lord. He baptized me a few years later. He was a joyful man. He always had a song on his lips, and I loved to hear his clear, rich baritone voice. He is an irreplaceable part of our family. I will miss him, but I’m so thankful that I will see him again. And when I do, I will give him the biggest hug. Rest well, Dad.

This song recently hit 5 million streams on Spotify! I released it in 2017, but it didn’t get traction until 2022 when it started trending on Instagram. It’s been a pleasant surprise in my career to watch songs take off years after they were released.
