One more Bowie post. This is from Halloween 2004. Sang at the 40 Watt with a sequined cheerleader outfit worn backwards. Sexiest I’ve ever felt? YES. Thank you, Starman (and for letting me glam up your DJ set.)

Ten years ago, I awoke to the news that David Bowie had died, which felt seismic—like a portal of creative freedom and expression had closed. I caught an early flight with the band to join the Impractical Jokers cruise and wept nonstop on the plane, listening to Blackstar, his impeccably tailored goodbye.
We played the kick-off of the cruise as we left Tampa, with the Impractical Jokers and their friends—including Joey Fatone of NSYNC—watching us from the side of the stage. Midway through, I tearfully talked about how devastated I was by David’s death, how he’d been a north star to my entire creative life. I sang “Under Pressure” with tears rolling down my face.
Afterward, Joey Fatone ran up to me and said, “Dude, you’re incredible! That ‘Under Pressure’ had me crying, man!”
