I know everybody’s been sittin’ on pins and needles waitin’ for a real, honest‑to‑God update from us. I’ve seen your posts, your messages, your comments, your prayers… and Lord knows we needed a few days to breathe, sit still, and figure out which direction the Good Lord was nudgin’ us.Truth is… the road ahead ain’t paved.
It’s gravel.
It’s crooked.
It’s got hills that’ll make your knees pop and curves that’ll make your stomach flip.
But it’s the road we’re on, and we’re walkin’ it with our heads held high.

You all know this restaurant wasn’t just a business.
It was my childhood dream — the one I carried around like a pocketknife, tucked deep in my heart since I was knee‑high to a grasshopper.
And somehow, by grit, grace, and a whole lotta y’all, that dream came true.
We built somethin’ special.
We built somethin’ rare.
We built somethin’ folks in this world don’t get to see too often anymore — a place where strangers became family, where regulars had their own chairs, where laughter echoed louder than the fryers, and where love was served right alongside the pintos and mashed taters.
We didn’t just open a restaurant…
We opened a home.

🐓 To Our People — Our Rooster Family
To every single soul who walked through those doors…
To the ones who came on day one, and the ones who found us last week…
To the folks who drove hours, and the ones who walked over from down the street…
To the ones who bragged on us, prayed for us, cried with us, and stood by us…You changed us.
You changed me.
You gave me purpose.
You gave me hope.
You gave me a reason to get up every mornin’ and tie that apron on.

And to our girls — Chelsea, Cindy, Kayla, Autumn, Pam, Mathew, Kristie, B, Beth, Jayden, Tonya, Mama Ruth —
Lord have mercy, y’all showed up like warriors.
You took ownership of a dream that wasn’t even yours.
You sweated, you hustled, you laughed, you cried, you stayed late, you came early, you held me up when I was fallin’ apart, and you made The Rooster somethin’ folks will talk about for years.

And Renee…
This wasn’t her dream.
She don’t even like cookin’.
But she was there every single day, shoulder‑to‑shoulder with me, doin’ whatever needed doin’.
That’s love. That’s loyalty. That’s partnership.

🔥 The Hard Truths
There were things we couldn’t control.
Family illness — the kind that shakes your bones and rearranges your priorities.
A building we outgrew faster than a kid in summertime — no space, no storage, no room for the staff we desperately needed.
A kitchen hotter than the devil’s armpit — 133 degrees some days — and it took a toll on my body that I couldn’t ignore anymore.
And life…
Life has a way of tappin’ you on the shoulder and sayin’,
“Hey now… it’s time to rest.”

🌪️ What a Ride
We did what most folks never do.
We built a successful restaurant in under a year and a half.
We built a community.
We built a legacy.
We built somethin’ worth rememberin’.
And now…
With heavy hearts but grateful souls…
We’re closin’ The Rooster permanently.
Not because we failed.
Not because we quit.
But because sometimes the chapter ends even when the story ain’t finished.

🌤️ Hope Ain’t Gone — It’s Just Turnin’ a Page
We don’t know what the future holds.
We don’t know what God’s got planned.
But we know this:Jeremiah 29:11 — “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord.
And I believe that with every fiber of my bein’.

We hope to see y’all around town.
We hope you stop us in Walmart and hug our necks.
We hope you honk when you pass us on the road.
We hope you remember the good meals, the good laughs, and the good people.The Rooster may be closin’…

The family we built?

A Sunday mornin’ that feels like it was hand‑stitched by the good Lord Himself.
Sky sittin’ pretty, air soft as a hymn, and that quiet little whisper that tells you today might just be the day you finally unclench your jaw and breathe a little deeper.
Now I don’t know who needs to hear this, but I reckon a whole lot of us woke up carryin’ things we ain’t meant to carry.
Not the normal everyday “did I turn the stove off” kinda worry—
I’m talkin’ about that deep‑down, heavy‑in-your-chest, replayin’ conversations from two months ago kinda worry.
The kind that sits with you like a shadow even when the sun’s out.

But last night I ran across somethin’ that stopped me right in my tracks:
“Worry is like a rocking chair… it gives you somethin’ to do, but it don’t take you anywhere.”
And Lord have mercy…
It was like somebody reached down and lifted my shoulders up off my ears.
Just a tiny shift—
but sometimes that’s all it takes.
A quote, a verse, a video, a whisper from heaven…
just enough to remind us that all that rockin’ back and forth ain’t movin’ us one inch closer to peace.

So if you’re rockin’ this mornin’, rock slow…
and then stand up outta that chair and let today be the day you set some of that worry down.

Well now… y’all done made it to Friday, and I don’t care what anybody says — that right there is a blessing all by itself. If you opened your eyes this mornin’, if you put your feet on the floor, if you took that first deep breath of the day… honey, you are already doin’ better than some folks.
We get so tangled up in the rushin’, the runnin’, the clock‑watchin’, the “Lord, I’m late again” kinda livin’ that we forget the simplest thing: we woke up. And that’s somethin’ worth pausin’ for.
So before the world starts hollerin’, before your phone starts dingin’, before your day gets away from you like a dog slippin’ its collar — just take a second. Sit still. Be thankful for what you’re given, not what you’re missin’.
Life’s busy. Jobs are loud. Schedules don’t care about your feelings. But mercy… sometimes you gotta slow your tail down and enjoy what the good Lord handed you. Even if it ain’t perfect. Even if it’s messy. Even if it’s held together with prayers and duct tape.

Local events poppin’ up like mushrooms after a rain, small businesses hustlin’, volunteers showin’ up, neighbors helpin’ neighbors.Supporting your locals ain’t just a slogan — it’s the heartbeat of towns like ours. It’s what keeps the lights on, the doors open, and the stories flowin’.
Folks forget sometimes, but you’re right to remind ’em: show up, spend a little, smile a lot, and keep your community strong.

It’s still hangin’ around, but it’s losin’ its grip. Mornings got that tiny whisper of coolness, like fall’s standin’ just offstage, holdin’ a pumpkin spice latte and tappin’ her foot, waitin’ to make her entrance. Everything pumpkin is comin’ — muffins, candles, pies, porch décor, and that one friend who goes feral for pumpkin‑spice anything.
Life’s short, and It’s plain and simple: take the pictures, enjoy the trip, don’t sweat the small stuff. Folks spend too much time worryin’ about things that don’t matter and not near enough time enjoyin’ the people who do.

Lord have mercy… it’s ole humpday again, and we’re tryin’ our best to get back into the swing of things at The Rooster. Life’s been throwin’ curveballs like it’s tryin’ out for the big leagues, but we’re still standin’, still cookin’, still lovin’ on this community the way we always have.

Last week, Kristie and Mike lost a precious member of their family, and it’s made the world look a whole lot different to them right now. If you know them, you know their hearts are big and tender, so keep ‘em tucked in your thoughts today.

And our sweet B, the queen of all things sugary, creamy, and downright sinful in that dessert cooler… she’s been under a doctor’s care since Friday and will be for the foreseeable future. So the rest of us hens are flappin’ around tryin’ to keep those desserts stocked. It might not be perfect, but we’re givin’ it everything we’ve got.

Most of y’all have noticed you’re seein’ a whole lot less of me inside the restaurant. I had to make a hard call — one that was best for me and Renee — and step back a bit. Don’t you worry though… we’re still here, still helpin’, still part of the heartbeat of this place. Sometimes life says, “Alright now, it’s time to shift gears,” and you just gotta listen.
But hear me loud and clear:
Don’t count us out.
We’re still the same ole Rooster y’all have grown to love — feathers a little ruffled, maybe, but still crowin’ every mornin’.

Good morning Rooster Nation. We just wanted to let everyone know we are taking a break over the next couple days. Friday was extremely slow. We figure you guys are enjoying the holiday weekend , so we are taking a break to. We don't get a chance to do that very often. We will be closed today and tomorrow and will open back up Tuesday.
