New Day Community Church

The church is ready for Advent and Christmas. The poinsettia tree is up and ready. However the weather is not. We are going to postpone the First Sunday of Advent from Sunday morning to Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. Hope you can join us. Please share so we can get the word out about the postponement.

Set up and ready to go. You will be seated and we serve you your breakfast. Pancakes and gravy made from scratch. Hope to see you Saturday morning.

We have rescheduled our annual Pancake Breakfast. We will also be having a craft and bake sale. We will be serving gluten free pancakes and gravy.

We will be raffling off a Terry Reeves creation that he calls an "ILLUSION BASKET WITH LID". It will one of a kind. Jody Bickes has also donated an Afghan which may be a good luck piece for the Illini or Bears.

At New Day Church our Kid's Club Prime Time meets during the worship hour on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Prime Time is for our elementary students who are having fun and learning about Jesus and the Good News.

They meet in our C.L.U.B. which stands for children learning understanding and believing.

We also have youth group for our older kids the first and third Sunday of each month after worship. Lunch is served and our Pastor Colten Day leads the group in fellowship and sharing.
Our worship service begins at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning.

New Day is located at 4191 Greenswitch Road in Decatur.

As most of you know Cheryl has been dealing with Huntington's disease for the past 17 years. Cheryl passed away at 6:30 a.m. this morning at home with her family by her side. She had been in hospice care for over two years. Some have called Huntington's the worst disease in human history.

However, it could not and did not affect her beautiful spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy and kindness. She was the greatest and most amazing person I ever met. For me it was love at first sight. Our family has appreciated your thoughts and prayers over the years.

My birthday was also this week, and I appreciated all the greetings and well wishes. I tried to respond to each greeting individually; however, I am not real proficient in navigating facebook. So thank you to you all who remembered me.

I am sorry to say that we will be postponing our Pancake Breakfast on November 2nd. My wife Cheryl who has been in hospice care with Huntington's disease had developed pneumonia from aspirating. She is better from that but will be unable to eat going forward and we are afraid next week may be a very difficult one. Along with some other health issues in our church family we have decided to postpone the breakfast.

We will plan a new date and if you have purchased tickets they will be honored on that date or you can contact us for a refund.
