As you consider year-end giving, please think of your neighborhood greenway. If you moved to Forrest Hills after 2015, you won't remember what it used to look like: dumping, drug deals, abandoned cars, choked with kudzu. (See first two photos.) Your support will help to keep it like the other two photos: native plants, peaceful beauty, flowers. You can make a tax-deductible gift at [https://eastdecaturgreenway.org/donate/](https://eastdecaturgreenway.org/donate/)
Thank you!

Now blooming in the pollinator garden at the Greenway! Red Chokeberry flowers are commonly known for their striking red berries and lovely white or pinkish flowers. This is a North American shrub that is native to the eastern and central United States as well as eastern Canada.
Sunlight exposure can affect the coloration of the flowers, with increased sunlight often intensifying the red hues, making for an even more visually appealing sight. This plant is valued not only for its aesthetic appeal but also for its ecological importance in providing food and habitat for wildlife.
Visit the Greenway soon to see what's blooming and growing!

The daffodil, (Narcissus pseudonarcissus) is a vibrant spring flower. Its trumpet-shaped yellow blossoms symbolize rebirth and new beginnings. The daffodil is not a native plant, but resided on the property before EDG acquired it. Daffodils typically bloom in early spring, inviting a burst of color to gardens and landscapes. These resilient flowers are often associated with positivity, hope, and a reminder that spring is on the way!
