We are a neighborhood organization in Decatur, Illinois. We hold our neighborhood group meetings the first Thursday of every month from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
The mission of Southside Improvement Association (SIA) is to address community deterioration, juvenile delinquency and community improvements within our boundaries. at the J Morris Enterprises office located at 1210 S Jasper St., Decatur, IL. If the first Thursday of the month falls on a holiday, please check our website to see if there is an alternate date (www.sia-decatur.org), or send us a private message.
Reminder - our next SIA neighborhood meeting will be Thursday, June 4th. Our meetings take place at J Morris Enterprises, 1210 S Jasper St, and run from 5:30-6:30pm. SIA meetings are open to anyone who lives or works in, or has ties to, the south side of Decatur.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR JUNE
June has arrived and summer calendars are filling up fast ☀️🎶
With vacations and travel plans underway, we currently have several volunteer openings and would love some extra hands in the kitchen this month!
Every single day of the year, we fill two important volunteer shifts to help keep meals going out to our community.
🍽️ 9am-11am
Help prepare the daily meal by chopping ingredients, opening cans, making sandwiches, and packing sack lunches.
🥪 11am-1pm
Help serve lunch to patrons through our cafeteria-style line.
The dates we need help this month are listed in the photo, and many of the dates marked “urgent” currently have no volunteers scheduled.
No matter the season, Good Samaritan Inn will continue showing up with a daily, nutritious meal and a welcoming place for those who need it. If you’ve been looking for a way to help your community, this is a great time to jump in and join the crew. 💚

Since 1983, the Decatur Park District and Illinois State Board of Education have partnered to provide FREE meals for kids across Decatur through the Summer Food Service Program!
