The Trump Administration continues its attack on immigrants with this decision from the Board of Immigration Appeals. If you are a DACA recipient, DO NOT DELAY IN FILING TO RENEW YOUR STATUS. The current recommendation is at least 6 months before expiration in most cases. However, every case is different, and yours may require more time than that. Call a qualified immigration lawyer to discuss your case.

The Trump Administration has made changes to work permits. In addition to increased fees, they are now valid for much shorter periods of time. If your work permit will expire within 6 months, it’s time to work on filing for a renewal.
Seeking asylum is a human right.
We must protect asylum seekers, not persecute them.
HAS DACA RETURNED???
Not yet, but hope is on the horizon! The government has filed its brief in the Texas lawsuit, essentially saying that they would process initial DACA applications again for anyone who resides outside of Texas. Now it is in the hands of Judge Hanen in Texas.
In the hopes that DACA will return, we are sharing the eligibility requirements for applying for DACA:
-Arrived in the United States prior to 16 years of age
-Present in the United States continuously since June 15, 2007
-Present in the United States on June 15, 2012
-Less than 31 years of age on June 15, 2012
-No lawful immigration status on June 15, 2012
-Graduated from high school or earned a GED
-Lack of a serious criminal history
This list is not comprehensive, and this is not legal advice. Each case is different and must be evaluated based on its own unique facts and circumstances. This is simply shared for information for those who have been wondering whether DACA will ever return. We will update when more information becomes available.
