Game Week in the STEM Lab
♟️🧠🎲
3rd grade sharpened their thinking by reviewing ♟️CHESS. They discovered the pieces and how they move, set up the board, and practiced with partners.
4th grade focused on winning strategies with MANCALA. They practiced
thinking ahead 🧠 to outsmart their opponent.
5th grade was introduced to RUMMIKUB for the first time this week! Instead of competing, they worked together to learn the rules and manipulate the tiles as they tried to figure out the game as a team. 🤔
I was so proud of the perseverance, the teamwork, and the problem-solving I saw this week.
Learning through play is the best! 🙌
A fun week in the lab watching the reactions during some winter themed science experiments.

National Candy Corn Day Fun! 🧡🍂
Last Thursday, our students had an opportunity to celebrate National Candy Corn Day by putting their estimation skills to the test! They were challenged to guess how many pieces of candy corn were in a container... and let’s just say, the competition was tight!
🥇 Congratulations to William Coan, who made an amazing estimation of 617 pieces — just 8 candy corns away from the actual total of 609! 🧠👏
Mrs. C**n is so proud of everyone who participated and took the courage to make a guess. Estimating isn’t always easy, but it’s a fun way to think critically and practice math in a real-world way!
