Heffron acupuncture

Sometimes I get bummed if a patient isn’t getting as much movement with treatment as we’d hoped. Today, one such patient who had also been to a couple frustrating Dr appointments, said to me in tears, “I’m just so happy I’m here because I know that you ‘see’ me.” And this person who just needed to be seen had no idea how much I needed to hear just what she had to say. A reminder that sometimes there is movement in the stillness of holding space.

Apparently I’m too old now to paint my house without my shoulder locking up on me. A couple of cups after my patients today reminded me why I heart my medicine.

As my son said (a little too excitedly) while watching the orange glow as I lit the moxa, “whoa, that is epically hot!” To be honest, I’m not sure some of these little yang-energy bodies really needed any more warmth, but it was a fun lesson for the older two on another way we can strengthen our bodies and everyone really wanted to try the “special stickers”.

Process as meditation tonight. Creating a new piece to add more softness to my office. Inspired after working with and the lovely piece she made for her office. (yep I’m copying it!) Two weeks ago, I left LA with a car full of kids and crap for a 35 hr road trip/move. Tears have been shed, sleep has been lost, many bad words have been said. But today? Today I finished setting up my new digs at the Decatur Healing Arts Center in Georgia. So today, we celebrate. Radio silence for a while here has turned into a cross country road trip. Setting up my new practice in Decatur, GA this week. More details to come (after some sleep). Thank you to all my wonderful LA friends and patients. I will miss your faces!

Sunday morning treatments are some of my favorites. The quiet, the stillness, the no-traffic-on-the-way-to-the-office. :)
