Roosevelt Middle School opened in the fall of 1921, but it was closed in the spring of 2000. In the fall of 2000, students and staff moved to Stephen Decatur Middle School (formerly Stephen Decatur High School). In the spring of 2003, construction was underway to convert the former Roosevelt Middle School building to the Roosevelt School Apartments.

I don't have the year written in my notes, but these staff members attended the dedication of the Roosevelt bench in Fairview Park.

During the summer of 2007, we dedicated the bench we purchased to honor our former school.
