🚨 CONFIRMED TORNADO WARNING 🚨

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning until 12:30 a.m. for:

• Central Piatt County
• Southeastern DeWitt County

At 11:51 p.m., a confirmed tornado was located near Weldon, approximately 9 miles southeast of Clinton, moving east at 35 mph.

⚠️ THIS IS A CONFIRMED TORNADO ON THE GROUND. ⚠️

The tornado is expected to move near:

• Monticello around 12:05 a.m.

The warning also includes Interstate 72 between mile markers 162 and 172.

Flying debris will be dangerous to anyone caught outside. Mobile homes may be destroyed. Significant damage to trees, vehicles, roofs, and windows is possible.

TAKE COVER NOW!

Move immediately to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows. If you are in a vehicle, mobile home, or outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately.

🚨 NEW TORNADO WARNING ISSUED 🚨

The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Warning until 12:30 a.m. for portions of Central Illinois, including:

Southern Macon County
Northeastern Christian County

Northern Shelby County
Southwestern Piatt County
Northwestern Moultrie County

At 11:45 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Blue Mound, about 10 miles southwest of Decatur, and moving east at 45 mph.

Communities in the path of this storm include:
• Decatur
• Macon
• Mount Zion
• Long Creek
• Dalton City

This storm is capable of producing a tornado and damaging straight-line winds. Flying debris will be dangerous to anyone caught outside. Mobile homes could be heavily damaged or destroyed, and damage to trees, vehicles, roofs, and windows is possible.

Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Stay away from windows. If you are in a vehicle or mobile home, seek substantial shelter immediately.

This warning includes portions of Interstate 72 between mile markers 129 and 133.

🚨 MULTIPLE TORNADO WARNINGS ACROSS THE AREA 🚨

Several tornado warnings are currently in effect across Central Illinois.

⚠️ Latham, Warrensburg, Oreana, Argenta, Maroa, and Forsyth are under a **radar-indicated Tornado Warning until 12:15 a.m.** Take cover immediately in a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.

🌪️ Illiopolis, Niantic, Harristown, Mechanicsburg, and Mount Auburn are under a **radar-confirmed Tornado Warning.** This means National Weather Service radar has detected strong evidence of a tornado, and a tornado may still be on the ground.

⚠️ A new Tornado Warning has also been issued for the southern portions of our listening area, including:
• Taylorville
• Assumption
• Moweaqua
• Macon
• Shelbyville
• Bethany

If you are within any warning area, take shelter now. Stay away from windows and move to the lowest level possible.
