The Illinois Women’s Pro Tennis Championships is returning to Decatur for a week of elite competition, powerful serves, and nonstop action on the court!

We have a part time job opening for your consideration!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Unlock and lock the facility at the beginning and end of the day
•Open cash register, fill out appropriate cash register opening form, and count money
•Operate cash register
•Handles customers in a friendly and polite manner.
•Reserving tennis courts for customers
•Answering the phone.
•Give information about rules and policy when necessary or requested. Enforces rules and policies.
•Help Director of Tennis with tournament administration when asked
•Help run leagues
•Using the phone as instructed to promote activities at the facility
•Squeegee tennis courts after rainfall
•Assist customers with the ball machine.
•Keep clubhouse, bathrooms and windows clean.
•Sweep and vacuum the Tennis Complex and cashier’s area and clean the counter at the end of the day and at other necessary times.
•Picking up & emptying trash. Pulling weeds on the grounds.
•Arranges for substitutes and notifies the Supervisor of any changes.
•Close out the register at the end of the working day.
•Completes time sheets for payroll.
•Arrives at specified time to begin shift.
•Wears appropriate clothing/uniform and is properly groomed.
•Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

The Decatur Park District and the Decatur Community Tennis Foundation will be hosting a pilot junior tournament later this summer--and there’s no entry fee! Also included will be a complimentary lunch on Saturday for players and spectators. 🎾

Instead of an entry fee, we’re asking players to bring:
🥫 Two canned goods to support Catholic Charities
🎾 Two cans of tennis balls to help run the event
