Today, we honor the life and legacy of Rev. Jesse Jackson. I had the privilege of witness his conviction up close. I heard the stories. I felt the weight of the movement in his presence.

Rev. Jackson was not just a civil rights leader. He was a bridge — between generations, between the pulpit and the public square, between protest and policy. He carried the torch of Dr. King and refused to let it dim.

He taught us that faith must walk, speak, and show up. That justice is not an abstract idea but a daily pursuit. That our voices matter — especially when they tremble.

Rest well, Rev. Jackson. Thank you for blazing the trail so many of us now walk.

The pressure you feel is not meant to break you — it’s building you!

May neighbors care for one another, communities stand united, and Your comforting presence dwell in every home impacted by this storm. We trust that You draw close to the brokenhearted and remain steadfast even in uncertain times. We entrust every life affected into Your loving hands.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

I’m one year closer to the big 3-0! Thanks for all the birthday wishes as I turn 28 years old on the 28th! What a blessing it is to celebrate with family friends, and all of you!
