It is a simple and practical method for improving ease and freedom of movement, balance, support and coordination. The technique teaches the use of the appropriate amount of effort for a particular activity, giving you more energy for all your activities. It is not a series of treatments or exercises, but rather a re-education of the mind and body. What can it do for me as an actor? Many actors already know the benefit of using Alexander Technique to stay grounded and deliver lines with conviction and clarity. Alexander Technique is also used in examining your own approach to using your body (as well as your mind) in acting. Got a physically demanding role? Using AT will help you change your stature healthily to suit the part. As a psycho-physical educational method, Alexander Technique helps you to be more embodied on stage and off. Alexander Classes are a great way to introduce yourself to the Technique and to learn more about your own use in just a few short weeks. When does the next Insight Actors Studio Alexander Technique class series start? We begin on Monday, March 20, 2017. Classes meet at Insight Actors Studio, 1164 N. Highland Ave. NE Atlanta, GA 30306. Classes will be held on Mondays from 11:30am - 1:00 pm. Is it just for actors? This class is also open to anyone, and will be particularly applicable for those who are interested in acting or performing. When do I sign up? Registration is now open for class beginning March 20, 2017. Cost per class series: $200 for 8 weeks. (Payment can be made in two installments.)
