We are a small family farm growing and learning together. We Garden fresh veggies, and fruits. I hope to soon try my hand at beekeeping as well.

Raise cows, blue butt pigs, nubian goats, americauna chickens, dogs, cats, and children. We occasionally have/have had llamas, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, guineas, various other chicken breeds and other goat breeds. We're a lot like blue bell ~ eat all we can, and sell the rest. Throughout the year you can buy/trade from us, hay, fruits and veggies (fresh or preserved) fresh made cheeses, baby anima

I just wanted to reach out again with some resources you can stay up to date, and ask you to consider signing the petition if you have not yet. This battle is going to be a long one, and the local community can not fight it alone.

Dear Friends,

I am writing to you today with a heavy heart—but also with hope.

This note is not about politics or party lines. Truly. It’s about our shared community, our shared landscape, and the spirit that brings so many of us to Big Bend in the first place.

Right now, the Department of Homeland Security has fast-tracked construction of a physical steel wall through Big Bend National Park and nearby Big Bend Ranch State Park lands. All environmental studies and protections have been waived. We are being told that construction could begin in just a few weeks. Things are already moving fast on the ground. Local businesses and landowners are being approached daily as contractors scramble to house 600 workers who would build this wall. Our own electrical company was contacted to attempt to hire us to begin the electrical portion of the camps intended to house them!

If this moves forward, the impact will be devastating and permanent:
• 116 miles of Big Bend National Park land and access to the Rio Grande will be lost- basically conceding it ALL to Mexico
• Over 20 miles of riverfront land will be gone, from the parks, from the landowners, etc.
• Hoodoos and Balanced Rock trails will be permanently inaccessible
• Paddling through Colorado Canyon would be blocked forever
• Several area campgrounds will have to close
• There will be no access to the Langford Hot Springs
• Wildlife corridors for black bears, mountain lions, and many other species will be cut off
• Multiple irreplaceable archaeological sites will be destroyed
• Our internationally recognized dark skies will be polluted by unnecessary permanent lighting
• Our landscape will be altered forever—this damage cannot be undone

Please sign the petition, write, call, email your representatives and follow for more ways to take action.

Thank you!

Potatoes are in the ground! Drip system is set back up, tested and repaired. Onions are settling in nicely. Strawberries are blooming. Garden is tilled and resting before planting more as it warms up. ❤️

The sunshine is glorious! 😍

It's time to plant your onions, carrots, lettuce, spinach, kholrabi, radish etc.

I'm prepping to get my potatoes in the ground, peas, kale and more this weekend.

"Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond." ~ Kimmerer

I treasure this sacred bond we have built together, my garden & my soul.

Happy Valentine's day everyone!
