Anytime during the cleaning, if they need a break, whether it's mental (feeling overwhelmed) or physical (jaw getting tired, gag reflex kicking in), all they have to do is raise that hand and she stops right away. No questions, no rushing, no pushing through it.

It sounds simple, but for a lot of patients it changes everything. So much dental anxiety comes from feeling stuck in the chair with no way out.
